Obituary for Sarah F. Paul Sarah F. Paul, age 54, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018, in the comfortableness of her new home on the family farm. She was born the daughter of the late Gordon Foster & the late Donna (Bee) Fluhr. Sarah is survived by her husband Steven J. Paul whom she joined in marriage on April 26, 1997, in Fairview Heights, Illinois; her step father, Gilbert “Papa” Fluhr of Huntsville, Alabama; son Jacob D. Paul of Edwardsville; daughter, Nicole A. Fain & significant other Ben Wunderlich of Washington, Missouri; step son, David M. Paul & fiancé Chelsea Ruble of Worden, Illinois; grandson, Baker W. Fox; two brothers, Stephen Fluhr & wife Denise of O’Fallon, Missouri, and Bryan Foster of Florida; two sisters, Elizabeth Foster of Columbus, Ohio, and Mary Ellen Bailey & husband James of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and two step brothers, Kenneth Gilliam of Florida, and the late Mitch Gilliam of Kentucky.
Sarah worked as a Senior Lead Consultant and Project Manager for Nestlé Purina in St. Louis, Missouri, for 20 years. She was a devoted member of New Bethel United Methodist Church in Glen Carbon, Illinois, and participated in many small groups, bible studies, and outreach events. Sarah enjoyed and valued life thoroughly—every second of it—through spending time outdoors, traveling, visiting with family and friends, and by offering her wisdom and faith to others.
She especially cherished time spent with those she loved most—her husband, children, grandson, parents, and siblings. A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018, at New Bethel United Methodist Church in Glen Carbon with Dr. Penelope H. Barber officiating.
Sarah will be cremated according to her and her family’s wishes. In lieu of any flowers or plants, the family earnestly requests memorial donations to be made to The Sarcoma Foundation of America (for much needed angiosarcoma research) or to New Bethel United Methodist Church.
