Obituary for Cornelius “Connie” Charles Bell Cornelius “Connie” Charles Bell, age 91, died at 2:20 a.m. on June 20, 2018 at Meridian Village Senior Living Community. Connie was born on June 25, 1926 in St. Louis MO, to Elmer and Elizabeth (Aylward) Bell. He married the love of his life Rosalee (Slaughter) Bell on December 7, 1945.

She passed away on November 23, 2016. Connie served in the United States Army during WWII as a Platoon Sergeant. After the service he started an electronic business, C.C. Bell Electronics, which he owned until his retirement.

He was a member of the Bears Athletic Association; Knights of Columbus Council 800; and National Electronics Service Dealer Association (NESDA) for which he served as President and received the Man of the Year Award. Connie loved life and lived it passionately. His actions reflected a philosophy of, “you are no better than anyone else, put others first, and do what you know you should”.

He had a smile and charm that endeared him to others, and made sure everyone felt included. He will be missed by family, and also by old and new friends, including many staff and residents at Meridian Village. Connie is survived by 3 daughters: Dianne (Mike) Cochran of O’Fallon, MO; Cindy (Skip) Schmidt of Edwardsville, IL; and Sue (Ray) Sperduto of Edwardsville, IL; 7 grandchildren: Michel and Ben Cochran, Heather Duffner, Katie Robberson, Adrian Sperduto, Rachel DeWeese, and Maggie Gagnon ; and 9 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his brother Jim Bell. He has been cremated per his wishes and there will be a private family celebration of his life and burial. Memorials may be given to the Pink Sisters, 1438 East Warne Ave.
