Obituary for William J. Weiler William J. Weiler age 70, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away at 6:54 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at his residence. He was born January 24, 1948, in Aurora, Illinois the son of the late Donald & Helen (Darr) Weiler. William retired from the U. S. Navy after 20 years of service, where he was a Chief Hospital Corpsman.

After he retired from the navy, he went on to SIUE where he earned his master degree in Instructional Technology, and went on to work as an instructor in the Science Education Department at SIUE. William married Joanne Jackling on February 11, 1972, in West Memphis, Arkansas. She survives.

He is also survived by a son, Mark Weiler & wife Erica of Hillsboro, Oregon; a daughter, Janine Weiler of Edwardsville; three brothers, Robert Weiler & wife Cathye of Maryland, John Weiler, of Illinois, Michael Weiler of Illinois; three sisters, Elizabeth Weiler, Rose Roquet, & Mary Weiler all of Illinois. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home with Deacon Dan Corbett officiating.

He will be cremated according to his wishes and will be interred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri, at a later date. The family request memorials to the U.S.O. or the Arthritis Foundation. Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.
