Obituary for Margaret L. Ventura Margaret Lena Ventura, 84, died peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Thursday, March 15, 2018. She was born Margaret Lena Dennison on January 19, 1934 in Orange, NJ to the late John and Fern Dennison. She married Luis Santiago Ventura in 1954; he preceded her in death in August of 1988.
Together they had three talented and successful sons, the late: Michael Luis (d. 2004), Kirk Alexander (d. 2006) and Bruce Anthony (d.
2007). “Peggy” is survived by her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Boll Ventura (married to the late Bruce A. Ventura), and five grandchildren: twins Tyler Santiago and Hannah Hall Ventura (20), and triplets John Dennison, Gillian Grace and Cole James Ventura (17) all of Davidson, NC. Additional surviving family includes James Haberberger (brother-in-law), Brian and Jen Haberberger (nephew and wife), Christine Haberberger(niece) and her son Zach and grandson Austin.
According to granddaughters Hannah and Gillian, “Grandmasita was the strongest woman we ever met and a true role model”. This sentiment is echoed by all her grandchildren. Peggy was a refined woman who was a terrific listener, had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved to play bridge.
She was very loyal to her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her, especially Lupe O’ Leary her dear friend of many years. Visitation will take place between 4:00PM and 6:00PM on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL. Please come with a story to share, as we are sure there are many.
Peggy loved stories and laughter and we would like to take this time to enjoy both in her honor. A more solemn service will be held on Saturday March 31, 2018, at 1:00PM also at Weber & Rodney and officiated by Deacon Dan Corbet from St. Boniface Catholic Parish of Edwardsville, IL.
