Obituary for Gloria May Ahrens Gloria May Ahrens, age 92, of Glen Carbon, Illinois died at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. Gloria was a retired secretary having worked with her husband in T.R. Ahrens Appraisals. She was born May 11, 1926, in York, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late J. Arlington & Florence Markel.

She married T. R. Ahrens on April of 1948, in York, Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2013. Gloria is survived by 1 son, Malcolm B. Ahrens & wife Deborah of Glen Carbon; 1 grandson, Eric Ahrens & wife Stephanie of Edwardsville; 2 great grandchildren Christopher & Emily Rose Ahrens.

She was preceded in death by a sister, June Jump. Gloria was an avid bridge player. There is no visitation and private services will be held later.
