Obituary for Alice L. Kessel Alice L. Kessel, age 90, of Edwardsville, Illinois died at 02:51 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. Alice worked at Ackerman’s Restaurant in Edwardsville for many years. She was born October 13, 1927, in Breese, Illlinois the daughter of the late Herman & Theresa (Malari) Goewert.

She married Louis J. Kessel on October 4, 1947, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Breese. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1965. Alice is survived by 1 son, Louis J. Kessel of Edwardsville; 2 daughters, Theresa Meunier & husband Robert of Glen Carbon, and Barbara Kessel of Edwardsville; and 2 grandchildren, Catherine & Michelle Meunier and a special nephew, Donald Young of Greenville.

She was preceded in death by 5 brothers & 3 sisters. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2018, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home with Deacon Dan Corbett officiating.

Interment will follow at Valley View Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.
