Obituary for Jimmy Max Whitworth Jimmy Max Whitworth, age 86, of Holiday Shores, Illinois, Formerly of Jacksonville, Florida, died Sunday afternoon, March 4, 2018 after enjoying a long, happy, fulfilling life. He was born December 23, 1931 in Blytheville, Arkansas, the son of the late James William & Frances Virginia (Rayder) Whitworth. Jimmy married the love of his life, Eva Jo Walker, in April of 1957, who proceeded him in death.

He is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Lynn Whitworth of Edwardsville and many nieces and nephews. Jimmy was the last surviving sibling of 6 sisters and 4 brothers: Capitola, Athanel, Eutopia, Hope, Ruby-Vinette, Pandora, Claude, Martin, Jerry, and Theodore. Jimmy was a vibrant, intelligent, hard-working, and loving man with a heart of gold who dedicated his life to providing for his family.

He was always on the move, leaving the cotton farms in Arkansas for his first city job in St. Louis, to working construction in Texas, into the Army to serve his country as a paratrooper, then, graduating with a degree in engineering from the University of Houston, and finally working his way up in the corporate world to retire from a board of directors position at Anheuser-Busch. Retirement allowed him to further enjoy is passions for travel, golf, home improvement, and walking the beach with the love of his life, Eva Jo. Honoring his wishes, instead of a visitation or service, a family reunion in his home town will be held at a later date to celebrate all of the family’s lives.

A private family burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville, Illinois at a later date. Memorials to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association via Eva’s tribute page (act. alz.org/site/TR/Events/Tributes-alzheimersChampions?
