Obituary of Billie Shawmeker Billie Jean Shawmeker, of Joliet, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. She was born in Joliet on October 28, 1950, the daughter of the late Billie and Lillian (nee Lake) Shawmeker. She was a lifelong resident.

Billie Jean enjoyed playing a good game of poker with the family. Surviving are her four sisters, Roberta (the late Jack) Barney, Barbara (the late Dick) Zielke, Diane Hogan-Parker and Paula Spurgeon; two brothers, Gary (Trish) and Phillip (Karen) Shawmeker; numerous nieces, nephews and her dear friend, Barb Close. She was preceded by her parents; sister, Michelle; and her brother, Jerry, in infancy.

The family would like to extend their sincere thank you to Joliet Area Community Hospice for all the loving care they provided to our sister. Heaven received another angel. A Celebration of Billie’s life will be held at a later date.
