Billy’s Obituary Funeral services for Billy Barron will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at Philadelphia Baptist Church, with Brother Earnest Barron, Brother Tom Jordon and Brother Philip Robertson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery under direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville. Billy, age 88, of Pineville, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2019 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, O’Brien and Lessie Anders Barron and one brother, Gerald Barron. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of sixty-four years, Sybil Beck Barron, of Pineville; children, Penny Harmson and Keith, of Deville, Tony Barron, of Lakeland, Fl. , Kenny Barron, of Pineville and Tammy Barron and Brian, of Pineville; two grandchildren, Clayton Harmson and Janna, of Deville and Corey Harmson, of Deville; two great grandchildren, Olivia and Collin Harmson, of Deville; his fur grandbabies and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville and will resume on March 9, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. until time of service at Philadelphia Baptist Church. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be James Marze, Steve Sanders, Clayton Harmson, Corey Harmson, Kenneth Barron and James Svreck. Honorary pallbearers will be Columbia Gulf retirees, Collin Harmson and Butch Langford.

Billy served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and in the LA Army National Guard. He retired from Columbia Gulf Transmission Company after thirty-one years. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time at Larto Lake on his houseboat, playing cards and dominos with many good friends and spending time with his family and especially playing “Go fish” with the great grandchildren!
