Bing’s Obituary Bing Ellsworth Rosenow, age 82 of Shawano, died on Sunday, February 17, 2019. Bing was born on August 21, 1936 in Shawano, the son of the late Ellsworth Rosenow and Carrie (Hottenstein) Rosenow-Christopher. Bing was confirmed in the Shawano United Methodist Church and graduated from Shawano High School, class of 1955.

At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Army National Guard, where he served during the Berlin Wall Crisis in the 32nd Red Arrow Division. In 1962, he was honorably discharged as a U.S. Sergeant E5. On September 20, 1958, Bing was united in marriage to Bonnie Wright.

The couple owned and operated the Hex Supper Club in the Mooseyard. Bing had also been employed by the Wright Broiler Company in Shawano and was a member of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association. Bing and Bonnie lived in Florida for over 30 years, where he was promoted to VP of institutional food sales in Sarasota, and was an Elks Lodge Member in Bradenton, FL.

Some of his most cherished moments in life included watching his son, Jason grow up, and especially watching him play sports. Bing is survived by: his wife, Bonnie; his son, Jason (Gabrielle) Rosenow of Staten Island, NY; grandson, Derek Rosenow; step-grandchildren, Michael and Nicholas Linea, Carmine (Emily) Linea and their children, Sophie, Violet and Thea. He is further survived by his brother, Brett Rosenow; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Jo (Jim) Schoenhofen, Joe Wright and Scott (Mary Ruth) Wright as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; parents-in-law, Chester and Myrtle Wright; sisters-in-law, Rebekah Rosenow and Patricia Wright. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Mr. Richard Menning officiating. Following the service, military rites will be conducted by the Shawano American Legion Post #117.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services. Memorials may be directed to Safe Haven or Shawano Little League. The family wishes to personally thank the staff at ThedaCare Medical Center Shawano for the compassion and care extended to Bing, especially ER Dr. William Hampton, Dr. Hyzer, RN Diane, CNA Brittany, the EMTs as well as the police officers.
