Booker was born on March 30, 1945, in New York City, to his late mother, Lucy Valentine and his father, Booker Dillard, Sr He was the second of three siblings, Mildred, Maureen and Bobbie.

Booker grew up in Harlem where he attended school and later raised a family. “Brother” as he was known in his family and to friends had a great sense of humor. He was very passionate about sports and music.

He was a man of great integrity and very artistic. Brother was always very stylish and well-groomed. Booker was a good father to his son, he was very stern at times yet loving and compassionate.

Booker Dillard, Jr. leaves to mourn: his beloved son, Promethius Dillard (Pepper); one granddaughter; sisters, Mildred Tucker and Maureen McCollum; brother, Bobbie Dillard; nephews, Wardaron Tucker, Jr., Michael McCollum, Corey McCollum and Xavier Polite; great nephew, Wardaron Tucker, III; nieces, Carol Tucker and Lynette McCollum; aunt, Bessie Harris; and a host of cousin’s family and extended friends.
