Carl E. “Frog” Collins March 29, 1945 – May 16, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Carl E. “Frog” Collins, 74, of Coal Grove, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Our Lady Of Bellefonte Hospital. The Lawrence County native was born March 29, 1945 to the late Alvie and Lottie (Harmon) Collins. He is the husband of Barbara (Campbell) Collins.

Carl attended Coal Grove High School and was a employee of the Coach Marketing Company for 17 years. After retirement, Frog enjoyed participating in car shows and enjoyed keeping his yard in top condition. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed going to various churches to listen to his nephew preach.

He was of the Christian faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Orville and Merle Collins, one sister; Sylvia Mays, a stepson; Larry Jackson, a stepdaughter; Brenda Stapleton, three half-brothers; Charles, Edward, and Donald Hanshaw, and a half-sister; Hazel Hanshaw. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; Rick Collins of South Point, OH and Tim Collins of Ironton, OH, a stepson; Terry Jackson of Ashland, KY, a sister; Shirley (Tim) White of Barboursville, WV, a special friend and nephew; Terry Collins of Ironton, OH and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1pm, Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street, Ironton, OH with Pastor Terry Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, 824 Lorain Street, Ironton, OH. Visitation will be 5 pm until 7 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home.

There will also be a visitation 12 pm until the time of the service on Wednesday.
