Obituary for Carmen Equivel Carmen Alexander Esquivel, passes from this life on April 28, 2018, at the age of 88 years. Carmen was born November 11, 1929 to Jesus and Margarita (Garcia) Alexander in Eden, Texas. Carmen was a long-time resident of Menard before moving to Brownwood, Texas.
For many years Carmen was a member of Silver Spurs. She was a loving gentle lady who treasured her family and friends. Carmen was hard worker, she worked in the fields in her younger years and later in the restaurant business doing various jobs.
She enjoyed the outdoors and doing things like walking, and gardening. She also enjoyed watching TV, the family often commented that she was a walking newspaper. Carmen loved any opportunity to spend time with children and grandchildren, that was so important to her.
Carmen also had a special place in her heart for all animals. Everyone that knew her would tell you that Carmen was a very strong and faithful woman. She was always praying for her family and friends.
She is survived by 4 sons; Joe Escamilla (Linda) of Eola, TX. , John Alexander (Angelica) of Blanket, TX. , Gilbert Esquivel (Annette) of Temple, and Jose Luis Esquivel (Dora) of Sonora.
8 daughters; Martha Torres (Senon) of Menard, Mary Jane Escamilla (Cornelio) of Brownwood, Elizabeth Castillo (Jose L.) of Menard, Esther Alford (Rick) of Burnet, Lupe Barrera (Jesus) of Brownwood, Rosario Esquivel (Mario) of Menard, Dora Arroyo (Perfecto) of Peoria, Illinois, Elsa Rosa Castellona (Raul) of San Carlos, Coah. She is also survived by 1 sister Angelita Alexander Prieto and 40 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parent’s, 3 daughters; Josie Galindo, Linda Escamilla, and Carmelita Esquivel, and 1 son Aldito Esquivel, 1 son-in-law Lazaro Galindo and 5 grandchildren.
Visitation and Rosary will be at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday Evening from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, May 3, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Menard.
