Romero, age 101, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. She was born on September 8, 1917 in Las Vegas, NM. She worked for New Mexico Driver’s License Department and in other fields during her life.

She retired after many years from La Placita Dining Rooms where many of her customers and fellow employees became life long friends. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Ricardo and Concepcion (Chonita) Garcia; five siblings; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Carmene is survived by her children Stella Naranjo, Charlene Casados and Eduardo Sandoval; Grandchildren Rick Garcia, Raymond Lawrence, Debbie Tallant, Theresa Lawrence, Michell Lawrence, Jennie Leigh Fortuna and Christopher Sandoval. Several great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and one great great great granddaughter. As well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her greatly.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt.
