New Hartford- Carol Joan Hackett, 70, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Litchfield Woods Health Care Center, Torrington. Carol was born in Torrington on June 27, 1948, daughter of the late William A. Hackett, Jr., and Constance L. (Regis) Hackett, and had been an area resident most of her life. She was a U.S. Army Vietnam Era Veteran.

Carol had been an employee of the Torrington. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, crafting, crocheting, and will be remembered as the family photographer. Survivors include three sisters, Victoria Donovan and her husband William of Torrington, Colleen Zucco and her husband Robert of Colebrook, and Connie Anderson and her husband Dana of Stratford, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Carol was predeceased by a sister, Mary Anne Beecher. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 1, 2018 at 12:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial with full military honors will follow in Village Cemetery, New Hartford.
