Carol Jean Williams Hoyt October 11, 1939 ~ October 17, 2018 Carol Jean Williams Hoyt, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at McKay Dee Hospital. For those who had the pleasure of knowing her, Carol had a whip-like whit and perceptive disposition, guided by a nurturing spirit and altruistic motivations. She enjoyed politics, including sharing her own opinions, and she sought out the truth in every instance.

Her family was her joy, and her life’s torch was illuminated by daily breakfast with her husband, John, and visits from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. As much as they lit her life, she lit theirs even more, and she will be deeply missed. Outside of her family, Carol also took pleasure in her friends and work.

She worked for Weber State for much of her working career, and regularly shared stories about her time there. At her core, Carol loved people, and everyone with the opportunity to get to know her felt her zeal. She lived for trips to Wendover and card games with close friends, but also was delighted by even the smallest exchanges.

Carol is survived by her husband, John; son, Scott (Susan) Bramwell; daughters, Kathleen McWain, Karen (Cass) McGuire, Kim (Michele) Veillon, Stacey (Michael) Williams; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two grandchildren; sisters, Christine Williams and Tarri Abell. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, James Williams; granddaughters, Jamie Maw and Cassandra McWain; and great-grandson, Phoenix McWain. Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.

Friends may visit with family on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
