Friday, March 8, 2019 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Wayne Morris, pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.

Carol Lynn (Scott) Hartline was born July 7, 1942, in Lawton, Oklahoma to John M. and Naomi Ilene Scott. Carol passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on March 5, 2019 at the age of 76. Carol grew up in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School in 1960 where she was active in many clubs.

Carol worked at the Lawton Board of Education and retired from Civil Service at Fort Sill after twenty years of service. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lawton. Carol married Ronnie Hartline in 1960.

From this marriage, sprang two children, son, Pat Hartline and daughter, Laurie Applekamp. As a coach’s wife, Carol developed a great passion for football. Many Friday nights were spent under the lights watching her daughter as a cheerleader and her son play football both at Lawton MacArthur, and cheering on her grandsons at Jenks and Hilliard Darby High School.

She shares this passion with her children and grandchildren. Her oldest grandson, Tyler Ott is the Long Snapper for the Seattle Seahawks making Carol, perhaps, the biggest Seahawks fan in Oklahoma. Despite the marriage ending in divorce, Carol remained close to many in the Hartline family including: Bill and Sharon Stamps and family of Lawton; Loretta Hartline of Lawton and Rick Hartline, of Oklahoma City.

Other family includes: Her daughter and caregiver, Laurie Applekamp and husband Jeff of Oklahoma City; Son, Pat Hartline, and wife Susan, of Hilliard, Ohio; One Sister, Joan (Scott) Boyles of Duncan, Oklahoma. Carol was an extremely proud of each of her grandsons and would brag about them to whomever would listen. Grandchildren include: Tyler J. Ott, and wife Ashley, of Milton, Massachusetts; Tommy J. Hartline and Scott Hartline, of Hilliard, Ohio.

Carol’s family also included many beloved nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, John and Naomi Scott, and her brother Ronnie Scott. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to March of Dimes, Oklahoma, 5100 N. Brookline, Ste 850 OKC, OK 73112.
