David Wayne “Buck” Rogers December 12, 1957 – February 20, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Graveside service for David Wayne “Buck” Rogers will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019 in the Mountain Park Cemetery, Mountain Park, Oklahoma. David’s wishes were to be buried next to his Mom and Dad in Mountain Park. The family will greet friends prior to the graveside from 10:30a.m. – 12:30p.m. at the Funeral Home in Snyder.

Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder. David Wayne “Buck” Rogers, 61, of Kihei, Hawaii passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at his home in Kihei. David was born December 12, 1957 in Ridgecrest Community Hospital, Ridgecrest, California to W.D. (Bud) and Thelma (Richardson) Rogers.

He grew up in Trona, California, attending Trona Schools and graduating from Trona High School in 1976. He excelled in athletics, basketball and track during his high school years. After graduating he worked with various area contractors until finding work with Kerr-McGee Chemicals.

After living in Ridgecrest a short time, he departed the valley to work with a close friend in the contract construction business in Hawaii in 1989, where he has lived since that time. Finally settling in Maui, he made his home in Kihei, Hawaii for the last 17 years. He was a heavy equipment operator on the island of Maui.

Fishing and camping were his all-time favorite things to do while living in Hawaii. He became part of the Hawaiian family and culture while on the island and leaves behind many, many very dear friends, who he called his island family. He will be sadly missed by all.

David leaves behind his long-time companion of 17 years, Beth Sellman, his sister and brother-in-law Neala and Steven Montgomery of Clovis, California, brother-in-law Bobby J. Brannon of Arkoma, Oklahoma, 2 nieces, Candice Montgomery Leyva of Clovis, California, Melissa Brannon Bartells of Bella Vista, Arkansas, nephew Bryan J. Brannon of Fanshawe, Oklahoma, as well as their children, Kassidy Bartells and Masey and Kinley Brannon. David was preceded in death by his father Bud, his mother Thelma, sister Mickey Rogers Brannon and his nephew Christopher N. Montgomery.
