Darrel Wayne Plumlee March 05, 1956 – May 13, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Graveside service with military honors for Darrel Wayne Plumlee will be Monday, May 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma with Rev. Sonja Tobey, Pastor of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Lawton, Oklahoma officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 at the funeral home. Darrel went to his heavenly home on May 13, 2019; he was 63. Darrel Wayne Plumlee was born March 5, 1956 in Norman, Oklahoma to Roy B. and Joan (January) Plumlee.

Darrel proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Dubuque from 1974-1977during the Vietnam War. He received multiple medals and accommodations for his service. Darrel went on to obtain two Bachelors’ and a Master’s degree.

Darrel married his wife Kathy (Spiva) in 2005 and joined their families together. Darrel was a resident of Lawton, Oklahoma at the time of his death. Darrel had a deep relationship with his Lord and Savior which was evident in every part of his life.

He was a very compassionate and caring person that would provide for anyone in need. Darrel enjoyed anything and everything outdoors especially fishing, but was also a passionate hunter. He was an excellent father and introduced his children to many cultures, places, and experiences.

Darrel also had an incredible sense of humor and a knack for storytelling. He loved, and was loved by his family and friends dearly. Survived by his bride Kathy, mother Joan of Moore, Oklahoma, brother David and wife Marlene of Missoula, Montana, sister Denise Plumlee LaVon of Norman, Oklahoma.

His legacy lives on through his children: son Justan Plumlee of Portland, Oregon, daughter Renea and husband Nathaniel Lawler of Marlow, Oklahoma, daughter Sara and husband Josh Smith of Spokane, Washington, son Micah and wife Sarah Morehead of Moore, Oklahoma, grandchildren: Rona and Jamie Smith, Dax Morehead, Nacona, Wyatt, and Valton Lawler, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Darrel is preceded in death by his father Roy B. Plumlee.
