Joan J. Wolfe, 82, of Lawton, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 8, 1937, in Akron, Ohio. Joan was a homemaker, living in Lawton since 1978 with her husband, Clifford.

She married Clifford on June 1, 1957 and they spent 62 wonderful years together. Family and friends were Joan’s passion and delight. After moving from Akron, Ohio, Joan and Clifford were avid Square Dancers and loved the time she spent with the Lawton Silhouettes.

She spent much of her retirement years traveling in and outside of the country and often visiting family and friends. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She treasured her son and daughter-in-law and embraced every moment she was able to share with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

We are eternally blessed and thankful for each day she was in our lives. She can rest easy now knowing that she did her job. The joy she brought us, the lessons she taught us and the love she shared will be carried forward through the legacy of the family that she created.

Joan is survived by her husband, Clifford, her son, Scott and his wife, Donna, her four grandchildren, Elizabeth Moore, Kelsey Wolfe, Zachary Wolfe, Kimberly Norton and her husband, Michael. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kaleb, Hayden, and Wade. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Gladys Haywood of Lawton, Oklahoma and her brother Roy Haywood of Orlando, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Leah M. Fitch Cancer Center or Promise Care Hospice of Lawton Oklahoma.
