Donny Crittendon, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Cyril, Oklahoma officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Valley Cemetery, north of Lawton, under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Danny Kyle McClung, Sr., 79, Paradise Valley, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 in Lawton. Danny was born on July 16, 1939 at his family’s residence in northern Comanche County to Woodrow Wilson and Naomi Joyce (Burns) McClung. He was one of four children born to the family.

Danny grew up in the Paradise Valley area and graduated from Elgin High School. He later married Effie Jane “Janie” Shaw on September 20, 1961 in Lawton. The majority of Danny’s life has been spent as an electrician and he was a devoted member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 590 for more than 60 years.

He served as the business manager for the union for many years. He and his family were ranchers and cattleman for most of their life. He was a member of the Paradise Valley Volunteer Fire Department at its inception and served as its chief at one time.

He worked with the Association of South Central Oklahoma Governments (ASCOG) for many years helping with low or no cost services for senior citizens. He was a member of Paradise Valley Baptist Church. Danny was a devout family man and loved his family very much.

He cherished his time with his family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Danny attended many of their events and activities. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Danny is survived by his wife, Janie of the home, two sons, Danny Kyle McClung, Jr. and wife Susan of Paradise Valley, Dale Gene McClung of Paradise Valley, 8 grandchildren, Brandon McClung of Edgewater Park, Brittany Wallace and husband Toj of Virginia, Daniel McClung and wife Dolores of Geronimo, Jeri Fox and husband Paul of Fletcher, Dale “Chip” McClung, Jr. and wife Rose of Paradise Valley, Katelin Mangum and husband Tyler of Paradise Valley, Dusty James McClung and wife Jessica of Sterling and Allison McClung of Paradise Valley, 17 great grandchildren, two brothers, Johnny McClung and wife Lahoma of Paradise Valley, Eugene McClung and wife Penny of Paradise Valley, one sister, Barbara Sieger and husband Glenn of Paradise Valley and other nieces, nephews, cousins and family members. Danny was preceded in death by his parents.
