Watkins, Pastor of Locust Grove Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. Lena “Maxine” Wright, 86, Lawton, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at her home in Lawton.

She was born in Faxon, Oklahoma on August 10, 1932 to Guel Lee and Verna Gladys (Johnson) Farris. Maxine married Samuel Harlin Wright on November 7, 1949. They lived in Lawton when they got married and later moved to Bell Gardens, California where they lived for 30 years.

While in Bell Gardens Maxine worked for the Oscar Mayer Meat Packing Company for 28 years before she retired. Upon retirement the family moved back to Lawton where Maxine worked for Edna Hennessee Cosmetic Specialty Labs as a press operator for 20 years before retiring again. When her oldest son passed away she took care of her grandson, Matthew Wright, for 26 years before she passed away.

Maxine is survived by her youngest son, Walter Wright and Cindy of Apache, several grandchildren, Michelle Schulte and Steven of Lawton, Mike Wright and Cody Wright of San Antonio, Texas, Matt Wright of Lawton, Cheryl Wright, Tammy Wright and Sammy Wright, several great grandchildren, Shelby and Chad Benner, Justin Schulte and Dylan Schulte, Nicole Wright and Michael Wright, and older sister, Gladys Farris of Pensacola, Florida. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Larry Sam Wright and two brothers, Jimmy Farris and Darryl Farris.
