LaWanda Faye “Grandma Wanda” Anderson September 17, 1930 – May 15, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Funeral service for LaWanda Faye “Grandma Wanda” Anderson will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019 in the Snyder First United Methodist Church with Rev. Les Bussell, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.

The family will greet friends Friday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home. “Grandma Wanda”, 88, Snyder passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Ayers Nursing Home in Snyder. She was born September 17, 1930 in Altus, Oklahoma to Thomas Franklin and Edna Faye (Pike) Coffelt.

She graduated from Snyder High School in 1948 as the Class Valedictorian. She married J.L. Anderson on March 4, 1949 in Snyder. He preceded her in death in 1990.

LaWanda always had a great work ethic, which started from early childhood when she would have to do chores on the farm every morning before walking two miles to school. This transferred into adulthood where she was always working, staying busy and keeping occupied. She loved farming and ranching with her husband J.L., and always enjoyed driving the tractor, which she did for many years.

She loved to garden and quilt, making blankets for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very involved in all the activities of her grandchildren, always there and cheering them on. She especially loved wrestling.

She was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her children, Belinda Mallett and husband Joe Bob, Tommy Ray Anderson and wife Gayle, Victor Anderson and companion Rhonda Morris, Mark Anderson and wife Dana, her brother Thomas Coffelt , 12 grandchildren, Holly Holman and companion Trapper Smith, Amber Holman, Matt Holman, Ginger Holman, Amy Dawn Janz and husband Justin, Tomee Andrews and husband Casey, Brooke Anderson, Michelle Drescher, Kirstan Hinkle and companion Mike Purdhome, Nicole Anderson and companion Junior Compass, Luke Anderson and wife Kara, Sara Merchant and husband Wes, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Frankie Coffelt and her granddaughter Wendee Anderson.
