SFC (Retired) James W. Reed, 73, of Lawton passed away Monday, May 13, 2019 at his home in Lawton. He was born September 20, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio to William and Henrietta Reed. Sergeant Reed was retired from the United States Army and the Veterans Administration.

He married Karen L. Moore on February 22, 1965 in Oil City, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife Karen of the home, 3 children; James William Reed, Jr., Barry Arthur Reed and Tiffany Ann Penton, all of Lawton, 2 brothers; Ralph Reed of Fort Rucker, Alabama and Arthur Barry Reed, his 3 grandchildren; Robert William Reed and Kiarra of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Stephen Edward Penton and Rose McFillin of Lawton, Christopher Blake Penton of Bentonville, Arkansas and one great grandchild, Lincoln Kai Reed of Tulsa, Oklahoma. James was preceded in death by his parents.
