Donald James Marcum October 07, 1928 – May 17, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card A memorial celebration of the life of Donald James Marcum will be 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in University Church of Christ. Interment will be immediately afterwards at the IOOF Cemetery in Indiahoma under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

DONALD JAMES MARCUM, age 90, was born in Cement, OK to James Percy and Annie Opal Marcum on October 7, 1928. Since the 1938 purchase of the quarter section he resided on for the last 45 years, he has been a resident of either Indiahoma or Lawton. Don passed on to his eternal reward with God on Friday, May 17, 2019.

He fought a courageous battle against Alzheimer’s for the last several years. Don or D.J. was a successful rancher and business man throughout his entire life. His integrity was never brought into question.

More important than any of his physical achievements was his dedication to family and the Lord’s church. He was an apt teacher of God’s Word and focused most of his life on spiritual matters of the Kingdom of God. In 1946 he married Ruby Mae Singleton.

She passed from this life in January of 1977 after a long struggle against cancer. Later in 1977 he married Corine Alice McKinney and they lived together until her death in 2017. He is survived by his five children and their spouses: Vicki Kay Underwood, Donald Keith and Carol Jean Marcum, Ronald Kent and Sharla Joy Marcum, Gary James and Stephanie Ann Marcum, and Kevin Paul and Josianne June Marcum, all present residents of Indiahoma.

He celebrated eleven grandchildren: Melissa Anne Renfroe and Rhette Travis Poindexter of Oklahoma City, Amanda Mae Enfield of Manhattan Beach, California, Bobby Dale Marcum of Indiahoma, Brian Keith Marcum of Yukon, Jeana Yolanda Marcum (deceased), Joshua Kent Marcum of Quito, Ecuador, Jauna Mae Reeger of Tabacundo, Ecuador, Jenny Sherie Segura of Grand Prairie, Texas, James Vaughn Marcum of Indiahoma, Justin James Marcum of Indiahoma, and Chad Kevin Marcum of Fort Worth, Texas; twenty-two great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren with one more due in June.
