Carrie E. (Stone) Laymon, 91, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Carrie was born in Stanley, Kentucky on September 3, 1926 to the late Samuel Morton and Amelia (Young) Stone. She worked at the Penny Can Grocery on Lincoln Avenue during high school and graduated from Central High School in 1944.

Carrie is survived by her son, Samuel Laymon and partner, (Andy Krietzer) of Fort Branch, IN; granddaughter, Roxanne Nicole Laymon; niece, Carrie Michelle “Shelley Rieber” Powell (Greg) of Griffin, Indiana; great-niece, Stephanie Lynn Smith-Montgomery; and by great-great niece and nephews. Carrie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold T. “Spike” Laymon; son, Harold B. Laymon; sister, Dorothy Rieber; and by niece, Amelia “Butzie” Brown. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave.

, Evansville, IN 47711 with Fr. Gene Schroeder and Deacon Tom Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home and again from 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
