Catellino J. “Joe” Viviani, 63, of Marbletown died Monday, January 14, 2019 at Heath Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus. Born in Queens, New York on July 14, 1955, he is the son of Antonio and Yolanda (Medaglia) Viviani. Joe grew up in Astoria, New York.

He then moved with his parents and siblings to Cottekill, New York in 1971. He graduated from Rondout Valley High School in 1972, where he met his beloved wife Debbie. The high school sweethearts married in 1975.

Joe worked at Montgomery Wards as an Auto Mechanic for several years before starting his own construction company in 1983. In 2015, after many years of owning his own successful construction company, Joe began working for Feeney Shipyard as the Managing Director of Joinery and Woodworking. At Feeney, Joe was able to work hand in hand with his son, Joe Jr. (Joey).

Joe was much more than a manager at Feeney, he was a transformational force that mentored many, angered some but impacted all. His energy, leadership, skill and boundless humor will be dearly missed. Throughout his life, Joe was known for his honesty, incredible work ethic and biting wit.

He was un-afraid of any project, big or small and was known for his dedication to detail. Joe’s daily interactions with suppliers, friends and co-workers were legendary. Joe was an original founder of the Tillson Post 1219 American Legion Baseball Team, where he also served as manager and coach.

He had the great fortune of being able to coach his son’s team in the Rondout Valley Little League to a district championship. Joe took great pride in all of the children he coached throughout the years. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grand children.

Joe was a devoted family man, who always put his family and friends above all else (including himself). To know him and to be a part of his circle was a very special experience. Surviving in addition to his parents is his wife of 43 years, Deborah L. Viviani; his daughter Mara J. Wingard, her husband Daniel and his son Joseph C. Viviani (Rebecca Bugarin); his sisters, Ann Marie Viviani and her husband Andre, Toni Viviani, Joann Mason, and Maria Viviani; his in-laws Kenneth and Patricia Boughton; his brother-in-laws Wade Boughton and Arron Childers; his grandchildren Spencer Sands, Cameron Sands, Isabella Wingard, Giovann Viviani and Dominick Viviani.
