Obituary for Catherine Yaple (Sanner) Print Catherine A. Sanner Yaple, 92, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 24, 2019, exactly five years after her husband passed away. She was born in Erie on December 13, 1926 a daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Waldinger Sanner. Catherine graduated from Academy High School in 1944 and studied art at Villa Maria College under Zoltan Heya.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, wood carving, portrait painting, sewing, and cooking. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Russell E. Yaple; one brother, Donald E. Sanner; and her son in law, Wellie Yaple, II.
Survivors include one daughter, Holly Yaple of Waterford and five nieces. Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd. , on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and are invited to a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday at 10 a.m..
