Cecil Collin Berry May 08, 1925 – February 27, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Cecil Collin Berry, 93, of McAlester, died Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at a local nursing center. The family will schedule a memorial service at a later date. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.

Cecil was born to Turner Arthur and Mary Jane (Collins) Berry on May 8, 1925 in Roff. He was raised in the Wilburton area and attended Jones Academy. Cecil married Winona Jones on April 18, 1975 in Stockton, California.

They moved to McAlester in 1981. Cecil retired as a maintenance and janitorial worker from Frink School. He enjoyed sports, and coached softball and basketball for the McAlester Boys and Girls Club.

He had coached teams in all the towns he resided in. He was preceded in death by his parents: Turner Arthur and Mary Jane Berry; a daughter: Melinda Kay Berry; sisters: Betty Earls, Juanita Donathan; and a brother: Turner Berry. Cecil is survived by his wife of 44 years: Winona Berry of the home; son: Raymond “Bubba” Berry and Christine Rogers of McAlester; grandson: Lance Berry of Tulsa; niece: Pat Walker of Poteau; great-nieces: Angie Fetters of Poteau and Melissa Fetters of Idabel; and numerous other family members and friends.
