A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 27, 2019 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. James Crowson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Bolding, Trenton Bolding, Chaseton Bolding, Gavin Bolding, James Martin, Colter Martin, and Cabe Martin. Arrangements entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Joyce was born to James Luther and Lillian (Whitfield) Slawson on October 14, 1934 in Scipio.

She attended Scipio and McAlester schools. She worked as a hotel manager for Highway Lodge, and then retired from Super 8 Motel. Joyce enjoyed bowling and was a league bowler.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James Luther and Lillian Slawson, daughter: Debra Mitchell, granddaughter: Misty Reese, brother: Kenneth Slawson, and sister: Barbara LeFlore. Joyce is survived by her daughters: Susan Wilson of McAlester, Peggy DeFlorin of McAlester; grandchildren: Eric Bolding of Savanna, Angie Martin and husband, James of McAlester, Erin Ford of Krebs; great-grandchildren: Trenton Bolding and wife, Amanda, Chaseton Bolding, Gavin Bolding, Tenley Bolding, Colter Martin, Cabe Martin, Caden Wilson and husband, Hunter, Brayden Reese, Kyler Reese; great-great-grandchild: Rynlee Bolding. Also sisters: Karleen Webb and husband, Don of McAlester, Estelle Epps of Rosemond, California, and Tona Hickman of Woodlands, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
