Charles’ Obituary Schoharie (Schoharie County): Charles D. Aker 59, of St. Rte. 30A passed away Saturday, March 2nd at the Albany VA Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Aker was born January 16, 1960 in Cobleskill, NY, a son of Donald C. and Barbara (Trayhan) Aker.

He graduated from the former Cobleskill High School and later, enlisted in the US Army where he served his country stationed in Texas. After a deployment to Germany, Charles was honorably discharged and returned to his native Schoharie County where he drove truck for many years for the former Rua & Sons. He also had been employed at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland and Schoharie County ARC.

Due to ill health, Charles could no longer work but enjoyed his model cars and trucks and when able, enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara (Hilley) Aker whom he married September 1, 1984, his son; Donald C. Aker of Schoharie, his mother Barbara Aker of Cobleskill and his sister Amy Bellinger of Latham. He was predeceased by his father and a sister, Patty Aker.

There will be no formal services held.
