Charles Elliott Lee, 81, of Florence, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at McLeod Hospice House. Mr. Lee was born in Cussacs Crossroad, Timmonsville, SC, a son of the late Woodrow Lee and Lena Galloway Lee. Mr. Lee was a member of Lighthouse Free Will Baptist Church.

He had a love for his country and proudly served in the Marine Corps. Mr. Lee was an independent contractor with the United States Postal Service for 51 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and had an unbreakable love for his horses, 50 plus farm cows, and Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Mr. Lee was a revered father and grandfather “Pa”. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Lawrence LaRue Lee; his brothers, Glen Lee and Woodrow “Buddy” Lee; and the mother of his children, Joyce Ann Hutchinson Lee. Surviving are his daughter, Lena LaNette (Joe) Byrd of Effingham; his granddaughters, Brittany Nichole (Kyle) Grayson and Caitlin Leighann (Ryker) Royston, both of Effingham, SC; his sister, Loreen Lee Law; a number of nieces and nephews; and a great deal of friends.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Charles Lee to Rolling Thunder SC4, P.O. Box 3036, Florence, SC 29502. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Stoudenmire Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
