Harp, II an attorney in Lexington passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 17, 2019 at First United Methodist Church where he was a member with Rev. Doug Rowe, Rev.

Roger Weisner and Dr. Lee Dukes officiating. Private Inurnment in the Church Columbarium. Charles was born March 17, 1944 in Scott County, Kentucky to Charles Henry Harp and Dorothy Biddle Harp.

He was a graduate of Lafette High School in Lexington Kentucky, graduate of UNC Charlotte and graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law, a member and Past President of Denton Lions Club, veteran of the US Navy. He was an attorney for 47 years, having offices in Lexington and Denton; and had served as the attorney for the Town of Denton and Handy Sanitary District. In recent years he had concentrated on criminal defense, zealously representing clients in both state and federal courts.

Surviving are his wife Myra Harris Harp; sons, William Russell Harp (Mary Reynolds Harp) of Davidson, NC and Patrick Ivan Harp of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Sarah Harris Harp, Henry Russell Harp and Mary LeShanna Harp; sister, Julie Harp Galbraith of Lexington, Kentucky; brother, William Halbert Harp of Worthington, Indiana.
