Preston’s Obituary Preston Meredith Schwartz, 65, of Shannon Drive in Lexington, died Saturday February 9, 2019 at his home. Preston was born February 2, 1953 in Pennsylvania to Charles William Schwartz III and Julia Flinn Schwartz. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step daughter Kathy Shawn Hamilton.

Preston was a graduate of Lexington Senior High School and then attended Appalachian State University. He was a talented musician, and played in several bands beginning in the late 60’s. Preston was the manager of Davidson Wholesale Plumbing Division for more than a decade before retiring from Hughes Supply in Thomasville in 2015.

He will be remembered by those who knew him and loved him for his intelligence, quick witt and off the cuff humor; the type of man that could always make you laugh. What he will be most remembered for is the 8 Children/Grandchildren he raised. Showing his love that knew no bounds.

Surviving is his wife, Andrea Hamilton Schwartz of the home; two sons, Owen Schwartz (Natalie) and Paul Schwartz (Meredith) both of Lexington; one step son, Michael Hamilton of Washington DC: one brother, Charles W. Schwartz (Artemis) of Mississippi; one sister, Elizabeth Murdoch of Pennsylvania, and 4 grandchildren, Bryson Schwartz, Morgan Hamilton, Sara Ahmed, and Munir Ahmed all of Lexington.
