Robert’s Obituary Robert Edward Leonard, 87, of Grayson Creek Assisted Living, formerly of Helmstetler Rd. , passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019. A funeral service will be held at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 2:00 pm with the Revs.

Randy Foster and Edwin Chriscoe officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the home of the daughter, 1400 Helmstetler Rd.

Mr. Leonard was born April 1, 1931 in Davidson County to Frank T. Leonard and Lizzie Fritts Leonard. Robert worked in the furniture industry all his life. After retirement he built bird condos and log cabin bird houses.

He was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Virginia W. Leonard and a brother, Bruce Leonard. Surviving are his daughter, Margaret Everhart (Kenneth) of Lexington; a brother, David Leonard (Carolyn) of Lexington; two sisters, Evelyn Baker (Kent), Audrey Reid (Barry) both of Lexington; one grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be directed to Tyro United Methodist Church, 4484 S. Highway 150, Lexington, NC 27295. The family would like to thank the staff of Grayson Creek Assisted Living for all the love and kindness shown to Robert during the last year of his life. We also would like to thank Phil Land and Trellis Supportive Care of Forsyth County for taking care of him and Lauren Lyerly.
