Kathy’s Obituary Kathy Perkins Lanning, 71, of Lexington, NC passed away peacefully on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. A private burial will be held. A public viewing for friends and family will be Wednesday from 11:00 to 12:00pm at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

Mrs. Lanning was born on September 19, 1947, in Person County, NC to James Perkins and Mary Clay Coley Perkins. She was a retired organist for Shiloh United Methodist Church where she was a member. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Hoy Samuel Lanning, Sr. Surviving are her daughters, Hollis Papale (Adam) and Jamye Duncan (Hunter), both of Lexington; stepsons, Hoy Lanning, Jr. (Gwen) of Mt.

Gilead, Kevin Lanning of Durham, Phillip Lanning (Kim) of Charlotte; sister, Pat Lape (Bob) of Gainesville, FL; brother, Jim Perkins (Paula) of Midwest City, OK; four grandchildren, Katherine Duncan, Abbie Papale, Cameron Duncan, Jacob Papale; and seven step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildern. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice for their compassion and wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 943 N. NC Hwy 150, Lexington, NC 27295 and Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
