Charles’ Obituary Charles “Chuck” R. Nunan, Sr., age 90, of Ocean View, DE formerly of Edgewater, MD passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Shipley Manor Nursing Home in Wilmington, DE. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 14, 1928 and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Chuck was a retired truck driver for Armour Foods.

Chuck was an avid biker and swimmer and won several medals in the Senior Olympics. He was a member of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company, where he served as the chaplain for a number of years, a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, where he served as an usher and was also a member of American Legion Post #24 in Dagsboro, DE. He and his family enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the United States.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Genevieve “Jenny” Nunan; four children, Charles R. Nunan, Jr. (Christine) of Landenberg, PA, Patrick Nunan (Diana) of Edgewater, MD, Brian Nunan (Pam) of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Denise Nickel (Christopher) of Crownsville, MD; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, DE, where friends and family may call after 11 AM. Interment with fireman and military honors will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Chuck’s name to the Millville Volunteer Fire Company, 35554 Atlantic Ave. , Millville, DE 19967. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.
