Elbert’s Obituary It is with great sadness that the family of Elbert Norman Hicken announces his passing on January 16, 2018. He was born July 4, 1939 to Charles and Edith Hicken. Elbie graduated from P.S. DuPont High School where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball.

He played softball until he was 59. He attended Brown University and Goldey-Beacom College and served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He will be missed by his wife of 59 years, Gail Sheridan Hicken; sons, Charles (Pearl) and Timothy of Newark; grandchildren, Katie (Thomas) Zucco, Rachel Hicken, Ed Hicken, Gabby (Guido) Lauer, Geoffrey Hicken and James Hicken, and three great grandchildren.

Lovingly remembered by brother, Frank Hicken; sister, Edith Jarrell and Joyce Hotaling. He was predeceased by brothers, Charles Hicken, James Hicken and sister, Myra Wisniewski. A Funeral Service will be held in memory of Elbie on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11 A.M. at Lewes Presbyterian Church, 133 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where friends may call after 10 A.M. A reception will follow in the church.
