Charlie Mason Fry May 12, 1921 – November 20, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Charlie Mason Fry formerly of College Place passed away November 20, 2018 in Vancouver, Washington at the age of 97. He was born May 12, 1921 in Milan, Tennessee in his family’s farm house to George Thomas and Mary Ivy (Lewis) Fry, the couple had 6 children of which Charlie was the youngest. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main in Milton-Freewater with interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in College Place.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00PM at Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home. Charlie met the love of his life, Lucille Woodard when he was 16 and they were married two years later on February 27, 1940. The couples son Charles Wendell Fry was born in December of 1940.

Charlie spent nearly his entire career with the Harris Pine Mills Company, based in Pendleton. He held manager roles in the plants in Georgia, Pennsylvania and Virginia. After decades of service he was appointed President of Harris Pine Mills in 1980, retiring to his apple farm in Milton-Freewater in 1984.

He loved to golf and enjoyed traveling around the United States with his wife. Charlie is survived by his wife of 78 years, Lucille as well as 4 grandsons and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son; Charles Wendell Fry.
