Kenneth Charles White March 25, 1933 – December 22, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Kenneth Charles White passed away on December 22, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Walla Walla Washington after a long illness following surgery, surrounded by his family in loving support. Kenneth (Ken) was born on March 25, 1933 in Yakima, Washington to Willis Allen White and Gula Ada Roberts White. He was the youngest of 10 children.

He spent his childhood in Prosser, Washington, and after graduating high school in 1951 he joined the Air Force where he served from June 11, 1951 to June 10, 1955. He married Shirley Mae Prescott from Sunnyside, Washington, on November 1, 1952 in Sunnyside. Together they had 5 children.

He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1954 and was a devoted member, serving in many callings including Bishop. During the 1960’s and early 70’s, Ken owned and operated several fast food restaurants in the Seattle area, the most well known being called Ken’s 15th Avenue Drive-in. He then moved on to farming when he bought an apple orchard in June 1974 in Milton-Freewater and moved there with his wife and their children.

He was a long time resident there for 44 years. In 1983 the White family welcomed April Bigman into their home to attend school. Over the three years she lived with them she became like another daughter and sister.

That relationship has stayed strong to this day. Ken was preceded in death by Shirley, his loving wife of 58 years, when she passed away in 2010. He is survived by daughters Debbie (Kim) Carter of Puyallup, Washington; Jeanie (Chris) Rasmussen of Umatilla, Oregon; Mary Gray of Umatilla, Oregon; Joy Hale of Milton-Freewater, Oregon; son Rick (Yola) White of Walla Walla, Washington.

He is also survived by one brother, Robert White of Vancouver, Washington. 17 grandchildren 25 great-grandchildren 1 great-great grandson. A funeral will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1151 North Elizabeth Street, Milton-Freewater Oregon, 97862 on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 10 a.m. Viewing will be held from 9-9:45am Saturday prior to the service at the church.

Burial to follow at Milton-Freewater Cemetery.
