Chester M. Peachey, 79, of Trout Run, died Saturday, May 12, 2018, at his residence. Born Jan. 7, 1939, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Elam and Barbara Yoder Peachey.

Chester graduated from Bellville Mennonite High School. Chester farmed for many years before furthering his education and receiving a certificate in electrical occupations. He retired at age 65.

Chester enjoyed spending time with family, helping anybody in need and traveling the continent with his wife. His last moments were most likely spent in his favorite pastime, reading devotions. He loved unconditionally.

Chester was a member of Christian Church at Cogan Station where he was an elder. He enjoyed woodworking, birds, reading, traveling and going on mission trips. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Erma G. (Gingerich) Peachey; children, Evelyn (James) Roberts, Elwyn (Jo) Peachey, Craig (Betsy) Peachey, Curtis (Joyce) Peachey, Cynthia (Ronald) Neff, Carmen Piperata; siblings, Willard (Esther) Peachey, Allen Peachey, Anna Mary (Floyd) Borntrager, Marlene (Lowell) Wenger; sister-in-law, Nancy Peachey Bontrager, 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Peachey; a brother, Elam Peachey; a great-granddaughter, Annalyn Neff; and two sons-in-law, Brian Bitner and Frank Piperata. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Chester will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Christian Church at Cogan Station, 5904 Lycoming Creek Road, Cogan Station, PA 17728. There will be a viewing from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Interment will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Missions at Christian Church at Cogan Station. Arrangements are entrusted to Sanders Mortuary.
