Vern A. DeTato, 63, of Montoursville, passed away surrounded by his family Monday, May 7, 2018 at UPMC-Susquehanna-Williamsport. Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Theresa (Dolan) DeTato. Born June 3, 1954 in Berwick, he was a son of the late Ramon and Area (Harvey) DeTato.

Vern was a graduate of Williamsport High School. He was employed by the Loyalsock School District as head of maintenance where he retired from in 2008. Vern had a love and passion for motorcycles and his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons; Dana DeTato and Travis DeTato (Courtney) both of Montoursville; four grandchildren; Kiley DeTato, Riley McGraw, Cohen DeTato and Nevin DeTato; brother, Ange DeTato of Montoursville and grandmother Irene DeTato of Montoursville. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no viewing. A celebration of life will be held Friday, May 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Herman & Luther’s, 787 State Rte.
