Obituary of Christopher Konecni Christopher J. Konecni, 40, of Bardonia, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Chris was a gentle giant, with an easy disposition, quick to laugh or smile. Chris was born on June 30, 1978 in Haverstraw NY to John and Peggy (Bridgetts) Konecni.

Chris graduated from North Rockland High School in 1996, where he played football and lacrosse for four years. He went on to attend Central Connecticut State University and then Hudson Valley Community College. Chris joined the New York Police Department on July 1, 2003 and graduated in December that same year.

He has served the city of New York for over 15 years, and most recently in the 20th Precinct. He dressed as Santa Claus every year and handed out gifts at the Ronald McDonald House. Chris was a big fan of music and sports.

He enjoyed going to concerts and had a wide range of musical tastes, from Hall & Oates to Primus and Slayer. He was a lifelong NY Giants and NY Mets fan and followed the University of North Carolina basketball with passion. Always quick to laugh, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family and some cold beers.

He was known as Clyde to some long-time friends, his family called him Bubba, and the most precious people in his life called him Babe or Dad. He is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Lauren (Maloney), his daughter Anabelle and his son Thomas. He is also survived by his sisters Bridget (Derek), Colleen (Anthony), and Jamie (James) and nieces Allison, Emma, Avery and nephews Kellan, Finn and Connor.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday January 25th at 10AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church 128 Parrott Road, West Nyack, NY 10994 Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 24th from 3PM to 8PM at the Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, Inc. 728 West Nyack Road, West Nyack, NY 10994 (845) 358-4433 www. sorcefuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers please make donations in his name to the Ronald McDonald House.
