Obituary for Clayton “Butch” Wert Clayton E. “Butch” Wert, 69, of Lewistown, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 7:08 p.m. on Saturday July 14, 2018 at Gardens at West Shore, Camp Hill. Born November 20, 1948 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Clayton B. and Rhoma (Louder) Wert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Naomi (Jane) Cameron, Esther Smith, Jan Roth, Leonard Wert, and brothers-in-law, Bob Smith and John Fetters.

Clayton is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann (Peachey) Wert whom he married on September 23, 1972, his daughter, Beth Ann Aungst and husband Ryan of Lewistown, a grandchild, Brandon Aungst, and siblings, Eleanor Smith and husband Chip of McVeytown, Sharon Fetters of Lewistown, and Sue Schomer and husband Jim of State College. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church. Clayton was employed at J-Wood, Ram-Wood Custom Cabinetry, and Marlette Homes Inc. where he was able to display his talents with his hands as a cabinet maker.

For numerous years, he worked at Penn State Football home games as an usher and attendant. He was a giving man, he was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Most of all, he loved his dear grandson, Brandon, he was the center of his universe.

A funeral service in loving memory of Clayton will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday July 20, 2018 at Calvary Bible Church, 100 Calvary Lane, Lewistown with Rev. Howard Houtz and Pastor Jim Schomer officiating. Viewings will be held from 7-9:00 p.m. on Thursday July 19, 2018 at the church and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are respectfully encouraged to Calvary Bible Kid’s Camp, 100 Calvary Lane, Lewistown PA 17044. Online condolences can be offered to the family at www.
