Clayton Smith July 21, 1946 – June 1, 2018 Clayton Smith, 71, of Sandusky, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at Stein Hospice Care Center following a lengthy illness. Clayton was born on July 21, 1946 in Manchester, Kentucky to the late Virgil and Nervey (Sibert) Smith. Clayton was a high school graduate and a proud United States Marine.

In his working years, he worked for Smith’s Roofing and later retired from Norfolk and Western Railroad after many years of service. … Read More » In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool, throwing darts, jet skiing, cooking, watching television and listening to country music. His greatest joy in life was his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Clayton is survived by 2 daughters, Carrie Caudill of Sandusky and Angela (Jimmy) Fleeman of Louisiana; son, Brian Smith of Sandusky; 7 grandchildren, Michael, Patrick, Felicia, Courtney, Jacob, Ashton and Kayden; 2 great-granddaughters, Makenna and Emma; 2 brothers, Gene Smith of Washington and Vernon Smith of Sandusky; girlfriend, Betty Ann Craig and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. In addition to his parents, Clayton is preceded in death by 2 ex-wives, Christine Smith and Judy Smith; son, Clayton Sullivan, Jr.; daughter, Dawn Able; 2 brothers, Darryl and Herman Smith and sister, Fredia Smith. Private family services will be held at a later date.
