Obituary of Clayton Whittington Clayton A. Whittington, 59, of Warren was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday (February 18, 2019) after a brief battle with cancer. He was born February 20, 1959 in Jamestown, the son of the late William and Henrietta Briggs Whittington. Clayton attended Jamestown High School and in earlier years was employed by Truck-Lite in Falconer.

He was currently employed by Hopes Windows and was a member of the International Association of Iron Workers Union, Local 470. He was an associate member of the Vietnam Veterans Association and social member of the Henry Mosher Post 638, American Legion. Clayton was an avid NASCAR Fan.

He passed away on the 18th Anniversary of Dale Earnhardt’s death, who was also his favorite NASCAR driver. Clayton was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed collecting memorabilia. He also found great pleasure in racing and modifying his various RC vehicles.

He enjoyed nature and sitting around a campfire with an ice cold beer and good company. Surviving are his three children: Chad Whittington of Falconer, Lindsay Laury (Ryan M. Sadowski) of Frewsburg, Elizabeth (Matthew) Propheter of Jamestown; his ex-wife: Nancy Grice Whittington; two granddaughters: Alaina Whittington and Ava Lynne Laury both of Frewsburg; two sisters: Linda Gould of Warren, PA, Mary Ellen Whittington of Salt Lake City, UT and a brother Donald (Wendy) Whittington of Lakewood. He was preceded in death by his father in 1988; his brother David Whittington in 2003; his loyal dog, Lola in 2013; his mother in 2018; and his sister Rosalie Logue in 2018.

He is also survived by nieces and nephews; William Hardwick; Cathleen Reich; Morgan and Alexander Whittington. Family and friends celebrated his life prior to him entering Heaven’s gates. He greatly appreciated the comfort and care he received by his Hospice team; Amy Carmen, Julie Nagel, and Laurie Intihar.
