Funeral service for Mr. Clellon Tims, 89, will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 12 noon at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. Bro. Elbert Lewis will be officiating.

Burial will be held in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Mr. Tims died on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at RMC in Anniston.

Mr. Tims is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann Tims of Anniston; two sons, Jeff (Teresa) Tims and Derek Tims, all of Anniston; two grandchildren, Ashley (Justin) Brock of Oxford and Adam Tims of Anniston; two brothers, Hugo Tims of Munford and Roger (Peggy) Tims of Lincoln; two sisters, Dorothy (Wallace) Smith of Munford and Marie Gunter of Talladega; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Tims was a member of Oxford Church of Christ. He served as a deacon in the Church of Christ for many years and was a faithful and dedicated follower of his Lord and Savior.

Mr. Tims was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Anniston Army Depot after 29 years. Mr. Tims was a loving and devoted husband, father, Granddaddy and “Bud”.

He loved his family dearly, but his grandchildren were his heart. In Mr. Tims’ spare time he enjoyed being outdoors fishing, tinkering on old cars, and fixing anything he could get his hands on that was mechanically involved. He had a true knack for mechanic work and built many “toys” of his own.

Mr. Tims was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Lewis Tims and Nona Lackey Tims; one sister-in-law, Charlsie Tims; and one brother-in-law, Clyde Gunter.
