Clydine’s Obituary Opal Clydine Bruch, 92, a longtime resident of Warrensburg, MO, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, in Columbia, MO. Clydine was born on April 7, 1927, in Warrensburg, MO, the daughter of Luther Clyde Fitterling and Mary Alice Lockard Fitterling. She graduated from College High School and later married John Francis Bruch on June 12, 1948.

To this union were born five children. Clydine was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was the most loving and generous mother, grandmother, and friend.

She was an avid gardener who also enjoying fishing and volunteering at the food pantry. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Clydine is survived by two daughters, Mary Kathleen Ross of Big Fork, MT and Susan Beth Hogan (husband Ron) of Columbia, MO; one son, John Michael Bruch of Fayette, MO; four grandchildren, Dawn Schulman, Summer Calvert, Gabe Hogan, and Caitlin Whaley; two great-grandchildren, Rumble and Toula Calvert; and a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John Bruch; daughter, Barbara Kerber; son, James Bruch; and parents, Clyde and Mary Fitterling. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow the service in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Kindly omit flowers – the family suggests contributions be made in her honor to the Johnson County Food Center or Ronald McDonald House. Checks can be left in care of the funeral home.
