Obituary for CMSgt D’Ellis Green, Jr. USAF (Ret) CMSG D’Ellis Green, Jr. USAF (Ret. ), 81, of Summerville, husband of Tamar Green, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 at The Village at Summerville. Family and friends are invited to attend D’Ellis’s visitation on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 10 o’clock until hour of service at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2100 Bacons Bridge Rd.

, Summerville, SC. Funeral service will begin at 11 o’clock. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2100 Bacons Bridge Rd. , Summerville, SC 29485. D’Ellis was born on January 4, 1937 in Walnut Grove, Mississippi, son of the late D’Ellis Green, Sr. and Necia Mars.

He was a graduate of Charleston Mississippi High School and received his master’s degree of Psychology from The University of Nebraska. He retired from the United States Air Force after 30 years and the U.S. Department of State after 16 years of service. He worked as a librarian at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

D’Ellis mostly enjoyed studying his Genealogy. Survivors including his wife Tamar of 15 years are: two daughters: Brenda Ralph (Kevin) of Guys, TN and Cheri Green of Jackson, MS; two grandchildren: Sara Ann Coy and Jerrod Ralph; and three great grandchildren: Elisha, Leanna and Micah; four sisters: Wannette Franklin, Sara Ann McFerrin, Martha Whitehurst, Brenda Shivley; two brothers: George Mars and Randy Mars. He was preceded in death by one son: David Green.
