OBITUARY Colin David Horsley July 24, 1946 – July 17, 2018 Mr. Colin D. Horsley, 71, of Rome, GA passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Colin was born July 24, 1946 in the town of Goole, East Yorkshire, England. Mr. Horsley served England in the Royal Air Force during his younger years.

After leaving the service, Colin worked as an electronic engineer for the Marconi Company. Colin was a devoted volunteer for The Red Cross in Leicester, England following retirement. Colin moved to the United States when he married Dianne Nelson of Cartersville, GA in 2006.

Colin was an avid reader and enjoyed playing chess. He also was known for his love of technology and gadgets. Colin was a member of Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church, Rome, GA.

Colin is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Margaret. He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne Nelson Horsley, three step-children and ten grandchildren. His grandchildren loved Papa Colin and they were extra special to him.

The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home, Friday July 20, 2018 from five o’clock in the afternoon until eight. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Red Cross. Please visit www.
